Dakota County will receive single prime sealed bids for the final bid package for furnishing and installing Automated (library) Materials Handling (AMH) equipment in the Galaxie Library. Bids will be taken until 11:00 a.m. local time on Thursday November 16, 2017 at the office of Facilities Management, suite 2500, Dakota County Administration Center, 1590 Highway 55, Hastings, Minnesota, 55033 at which
time bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
There will not be a Pre-bid conference and tour. The library does not have an existing AMH and the new AMH will be installed during a full building renovation into a room designed for it. Plans of the renovation and wall sections where book drops are to be installed are attached.
Bidding documents including the bid form, drawings and specifications can be obtained from Dakota County Owners Representative and will be available on or after November 2nd, 2017. Bidders must be a Plan-holders on the Dakota County Owners Representatives list.
This project includes: design, fabrication and installation of an automated library material handling system with one internal and one external book drop (induction point) to be furnished and installed at the Galaxie Library for Dakota County (Owner). The AMH should have the capability to handle and mechanically separate multiple items at each book drop (de-shingling). Fire suppression is required at the external book drop. The system should include a minimum 8 bin sorting plus an exceptions collection point. The system should utilize the largest bins available to fit in the space to meet a 3,500 item capacity and be expandable in the future. Other specifications may be found in the bid documents. Installation shall be coordinated with the General Contractor completing the renovation at the library.
Prevailing wages are required on this project.
Bids must be submitted only on the bid form supplied in the Bid Document - Project Manual. No oral, telegraphic, telephonic or electronic bids or modifications will be considered. Submit with each bid a certified check or acceptable bidders bond payable to Dakota County in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total base bid. The successful bidder is required to furnish satisfactory Labor and Material Payment Bond and Performance Bond each equal to 100% of the total contract amount. If you are not hand delivering your bid, please ensure it has been received prior to the stated bid opening date and time by contacting the Owners Representative at least one hour before the bid opening. Late bids will not be accepted.
Bids may not be withdrawn within forty-five (45) days after the opening bids. It is anticipated that the Dakota County Board of Commissioners will consider award of the project on December 12, 2017. Dakota County reserves the right to accept any bid or to reject any or all bids, or parts of such bids, and waive informalities or irregularities in bidding.
