DAKOTA CO.: Ad for Bid - Bluffs of Miesville, Goats, Eco Restoration

Notice is hereby given that sealed bids will be received at the Western Service Center, 14955 Galaxie Avenue, Apple Valley, MN 55033, Room 106, until 2:30 P.M. on Friday, October 27, 2017 at which time they will be opened and read aloud for the following County project:
•Bluffs of Miesville Phase II, Goats, Ecological Restoration and Enhancement, Miesville Ravine Park Reserve, Dakota County. There is an area in the middle portion of Miesville Ravine Park Reserve, in southeastern Dakota County, that will be getting restored and enhanced (total project site is 18 acres). The scope of the project includes restoring and enhancing overgrown woodlands and forests on steep slopes of the site. Tasks will include the following: installing fencing; browsing the site with goats to control and eliminate invasive woody brush and trees, resprouts, and seedlings; tending of goats; follow-up removal of invasive woody trees and shrubs with chainsaws if control is not obtained by goat browsing. Project duration goes until June 30, 2020.
It is anticipated that a contract to perform the work will be awarded by resolution of the Dakota County Board of Commissioners at the County Board meeting scheduled for November 14, 2017.

Bids shall be accompanied by a certified check, cashier's check or corporate surety bond in an amount equal to five (5%) percent of the base bid pledging that the bidder will enter into a contract with the County on the terms stated in the bid and will furnish bonds as hereunder described covering the faithful performance of the Contract and the payment of all obligations arising thereunder. The right is reserved to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive informalities therein.
