Our Savior garage sale

Lutheran Church of Our Savior will hold a garage sale. The sale will go from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Thursday and Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

The church is located at the intersection of County Road 42 and Diamond Path

Girls soccer car wash

The Rosemount HIgh School Girls Soccer Booster Club will host their annual car wash from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Rosemount Good Year located on County Road 42. Coupons can be pre-purchased for $5.00 from RHS girl soccer players or at the car wash. Each coupon entitles the purchaser to: one exterior car wash, an entry in a drawing to win a local restaurant gift certificate; and while waiting at the car wash, a complimentary hot dog, bag of chips, and beverage. Irishettes car wash

The Rosemount High School Irishettes dance team will hold a fund-raiser car wash from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 9 at Marathon in Rosemount.

August 10

Empire entertainment series

Empire Township will hold its summer entertainment series Sundays in July and August. Glen Everhart -- the Hebegebee's Family Music Show will perform Aug. 10.

Entertainment begins at 7 p.m. at Empire Town Hall.

August 13

Remedy Drive performance

The Christian rock band Remedy Drive will perform at the Rosemount United Methodist Church at 7 p.m.

Tickets are not required but a free-will offering will be collected at the door to support the Remedy Drive Ministry Tour. This program is sponsored by the Youth Ministry and the Fine Arts Council of Rosemount United Methodist Church. UMore Open House

The University of Minnesota's Rosemount Research and Outreach Center at UMore Park will host its annual open house from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.

The open house will feature a wide range of exhibits, presentations and activities for the entire family.

Learn about University research, explore Dakota County Master Gardeners gardens, take a hayride through the property and more.

Complimentary fresh, local sweet corn and lemonade; hot dogs and brats for sale.

Dakota County's got talent entry deadline

The deadline to submit an entry to the Dakota County's Got Talent competition is 4 p.m. The competition is open to all amateur entertainers and groups.

Contestants should submit a $10 entry and a videotape or DVD of their family friendly act.

Acts selected to perform as semifinalists on Saturday, Sept. 13 during September Fest at Dakota County Technical College will be notified by Friday, Aug. 29.

Acts not selected for the Saturday semifinals will have their entry fee and video/DVD returned.

Rosemount High School reunion 1918-64

A combined reunion will be held for the classes of 1918 through 1964 at the Rosemount Community Center. Tours of the old school, now part of the Rosemount Middle School, will take place from 2 to 3 p.m. Registration and a social will begin at 3 p.m. Dinner will be served at 5 p.m. followed by a short program. Empire entertainment series

Empire Township will hold its summer entertainment series Sundays in July and August.

The Farmington High School marching band will perform Aug. 17.

Military retiree appreciation

Retirees from all branches of the armed forces and their family members are invited to attend a Retiree Appreciation Day at the Rosemount National Guard Armory and Community Center from 7:30 a.m to 2 p.m.

Retiree Appreciation Day is an opportunity for all armed forces retirees, spouses, widows and/or guests to receive updated information about retiree entitlement programs.

Registration is required. Space is limited to 350. All reservations beyond 350 will be returned. Cost for attendance is $5 and includes a continental breakfast.
