Taphouse may be coming to Rosemount
ROSEMOUNT — Northern Tap House may be opening its doors in the former Applebee's building. Rosemount City Council is slated to review an application and hold a hearing Tuesday, Aug. 21, for an on-sale liquor license to be issued to Meadowlawn Restaurants.
The building at Cimarron Avenue off of Highway 42 has been vacant since April 2017.
"We have been talking with folks for a while and it is exciting to have a company come in and one that has some restaurant experience," said Kim Lindquist, the Rosemount community development director.
"They did spend quite a bit of time vetting different companies and there was strong interest," Lindquist said.
Northern Tap House would be an American kitchen and bar restaurant that serves brick-oven pizzas and craft beers with an emphasis on rotating local taps, according to the council agenda.
Rosemount police conducted background checks on the corporation and liquor managers Kent Letnes, Kevin Letnes and Matthew Letnes and found no issues to disqualify the applicants from obtaining a liquor license.
The plan is for the restaurant to remodel the interior and open its doors in Rosemount in a few months.
Northern Tap House American Kitchen & Bar also operate a similar restaurant in Eau Claire, Wis.
