Sprint Store opens in Rosemount Crossing

Assistant store manager Brian Cody helps a customer set up her iPhone 4S.

A new Sprint Store opened in Rosemount Oct. 1. While it was slow going at first, when the iPhone 4S came out Friday, life at the store got a little more hectic.

"We've been really busy," said assistant manager Brian Cody.

Store manager Joey Aunan said it can be hard to open a new cell phone store because people are so used to going to the same places. However, the release of the new iPhone - available for the first time on Sprint -- seems to have people curious enough they are willing to leave their comfort zone.

"It's kind of funny," said Aunan.

Whatever their motivation, Aunan likes that customers are walking through the door. The store is a Preferred Sprint dealer. It offers a number of cell phones including smart phones such as the iPhone and others that run the Android operating system as well as more basic phones. The store also offers competitive plans and accessories.

The new Rosemount location is one of several Sprint dealers Phoenix Distributing has opened in recent months. Aunan said the company wants to bring stores into neighborhoods to offer a good product.

"We don't just want to sell phones. We want to help people find the right option for them," said Aunan. "Come in. Ask questions and check us out."

Cody said while there are also Sprint stores in Apple Valley and Lakeville the company wanted to have a presence in Rosemount.

"This is a good business location," said Cody.

Currently working at the store are Aunan, Cody and Olivia Schneider. Aunan said he would like to hire a few more people in the coming months.

The store is located in the Rosemount Market Square at 14885 S. Robert Tr. Hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.; Saturday 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Call 651-344-8002.

There will be a ribbon cutting for the Sprint Store at 4 p.m. Nov. 2.
