Take-out pasta restaurant open for business

Alex Awada grew up around the restaurant business. Making and selling good food is just part of who he is. And Awada will admit he loves going into work each day.

In late September Awada opened his second restaurant in Rosemount, Giuseppe's Pasta Al Forno. The restaurant is name after Awada's son and means Joseph's Oven in Italian. The take-out restaurant serves authentic Italian pasta dishes.

Awada said he fills his food with the tastes of Italy passed down to him from his mother and grandmother. He uses fresh picked ingredients and makes each dish to order. Menu offerings include Spaghetti Bolognese, Sausage di Sicilia and Mostaccioli among others.

"I love what I'm doing," said Awada.

Awada said he decided to open in Rosemount because there were no other pasta restaurants in the area. So far business has been good.

Currently the Rosemount location just offers take-out and catering but Awada said that could change if business demands. There is a second Giuseppe's location in Burnsville that provides dine-in and take-out.

On Tuesday the Rosemount City Council approved a liquor license for the restaurant. Awada said Giuseppe's will sell wine and homemade sangria starting sometime this month.

Giuseppe's is located at 15092 Claret Ave. Hours are 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and 2 to 9 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. To order call 651-423-4455.
