Serving Rosemount from cradle to grave for 15 years

Michelle Scheuerlein bought Rosemount Floral 15 years ago.

When Michelle Scheuerlein bought Rosemount Floral 15 years ago, she hoped it was a good decision. Looking back, she's sure it was.

Scheuerlein bought the downtown mainstay Oct. 1, 1996. She had recently moved back from California and had taken a job there. Several months after getting the job she ended up co-owning the shop and eventually bought it outright.

"I enjoy the work and it keeps me busy," said Scheuerlein.

While constantly busy, Scheuerlein said likes owning her own business and hopes to be open until she retires.

"It would be too hard to work for someone else," added Scheuerlein.

Besides she really likes what she does. Scheuerlein said she provides flowers for people from cradle to grave. It's a job that lets her be part of people's live on different levels. Additionally Scheuerlein said she likes that each day is different and that she never knows what each phone call will bring.

"It's not all fun. It's hard work," said Scheuerlein.

While some parts are harder than others Scheuerlein said it's a satisfying job. Valentine's Day and Mother's Day tend to be the busiest days of the year. And Scheuerlein said she enjoys the mayhem leading up to those busy days.

Her favorite event to make flowers for is Homecoming. Scheuerlein said likes it when the young men come in clueless as to what to buy for their date.

"They're just so cute,"said Scheuerlein.

Over the years, Scheuerlein said business has grown steadily and that Rosemount Floral has made a name for itself. Rosemount Floral employs five part-time workers including three designers and two drivers.

Trends have changed but Scheuerlein said that keeps the business interesting. She added that Rosemount Floral thrives because they're committed to offering the finest products backed by great service.

Rosemount Floral provides flowers for almost any occasion including birthdays, holidays or just because. Scheuerlein said they deliver throughout most of the south metro. Call 651-423-6300 for more information.
