Chamber will honors businesses

Rosemount will be the host of the Dakota County Regional Chamber's Survive and Thrive Business Awards. The event will be held 7:30 to 9 a.m. Nov. 3 at the Steeple Center.

Chamber director of business development and events Michelle Tighe said the annual awards ceremony will have a little different feel this year. Created to honor businesses that are excelling, Tighe said the chamber wants to focus on celebrating businesses that have survived through difficult economic times.

"There are a lot of business successes out there and we want to celebrate that," said Tighe.

The awards ceremony will honor six businesses in Dakota County that have survived and thrived through the last year.

Tighe said the recipients will be announced at the breakfast event. She said winners have demonstrated creativity, perseverance, and ingenuity to sustain and propel their business forward.

The featured speaker will be Cali Ressler, who in partnership with Jody Thompson developed the Results Only Work Environment, or ROWE. According to a chamber news release ROWE is a management strategy where employees are evaluated on performance, not presence.

"The speaker is fantastic. She's really innovative," said Tighe.

Tighe said the event moves annually and that she is looking forward to hosting it in the "beautiful" Steeple Center.

This event is $20 per person and will include a full-catered breakfast. To reserve a spot contact Michelle Tighe at or 651-452-9872.
