The first phase of the "Rosemount Connection" of the Mississippi River Regional Trail is expected to be complete by the fall of 2017. The second phase is planned for fall of 2018. When the trail sections are finished, this portion of the MRRT will extend from South St. Paul to Hastings.

Construction continues on the 19th elementary school in the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan school district. The school, located on the corner of Diamond Path and 160th St., is projected to open for students in the fall of 2017. It should ease crowding in the surrounding six elementary schools.
